Why not just use a website builder?
Builders hand you a tool and a monthly bill. You pick the template, write the copy, fix what the AI gets wrong, and keep paying every month for as long as the site exists. We do the work for you: a person designs your site around your business, the code is custom, the price is published, and hosting is free. You run your shop, not a website dashboard.
Who owns my website and my domain?
You do. The domain is registered to you, and the finished site is yours, code included. Every site we build lives in its own codebase, so if you ever want to leave, it goes with you. No platform lock-in and no export fees.
What does free hosting actually mean?
Exactly what it says: $0 a month, SSL included, on your own domain. Our engineers built hosting that costs almost nothing to run, and we pass that on. The only monthly fee we offer is the optional Care plan, and that pays for people: updates, monitoring, and support. Never hosting.
What does the $500 Portfolio plan cover?
The Portfolio is for individuals: photographers, designers, makers, anyone whose site is about one person and their work. You get up to three custom-designed pages, typically your work, an about page, and contact, with free hosting and your own domain. There is no monthly plan to think about, and the design deposit is $100 instead of $250. Businesses and bigger builds start with The Build at $2,500.
What happens if I cancel Care?
Your site stays live and hosting stays free. Care only covers the human work: content updates, monitoring, backups, and priority support. Cancel any time and pick it back up whenever you need us.
I already have a website. Can you move it?
Yes. We rebuild your content on our stack, connect the domain you already own, and switch traffic over once you approve the new site. Your address stays the same and there is no downtime while we switch.
Is it really about five days?
For a standard site, yes: about five business days from first conversation to launch. Bigger builds and Custom projects take longer, and your quote includes a realistic schedule before we start.
